COMPARISON GUIDE

Everlast composite siding vs. fiber cement

Short answer: Everlast contains no wood fibers, never requires painting and is designed to resist moisture-related deterioration. Fiber cement can deliver a traditional look but is heavier, normally requires repainting and depends heavily on correct clearances, sealing and field finishing.

MaintenanceEverlast: wash as needed; no painting cycleFiber cement: periodic painting and caulk maintenance
MoistureEverlast: no wood fibers to absorb water and rotFiber cement: must be detailed carefully at cuts and clearances
InstallationEverlast: lighter interlocking plank systemFiber cement: heavy boards with dust-control requirements

The right choice still depends on architecture, budget and installer experience. We inspect the wall assembly, openings and trim before recommending either system.

NORTH CAROLINA COST GUIDE

What changes the cost of siding replacement?

Short answer: Whole-home siding prices depend on measured wall area, tear-off, access, repair work, trim complexity, soffit and fascia, window details and the selected material. A reliable proposal requires an inspection—not only a square-foot multiplier.

Our proposals separate the selected siding system from related trim, soffit, repair and window work so homeowners can see what drives the investment.

INSTALLATION GUIDE

Why flashing and water management matter

Short answer: Siding sheds most rain, but it is not the home's only water barrier. Housewrap, window and door flashing, kick-out details, penetrations and proper clearances must work together behind the finished exterior.

During an exterior evaluation we look for vulnerable transitions: roof-to-wall intersections, decks attached to walls, penetrations, horizontal trim bands and openings. Correcting these details before new siding is installed is usually far less expensive than repairing hidden damage later.

DESIGN GUIDE

Board and batten: composite, vinyl or metal?

Short answer: Composite offers a substantial painted-wood appearance without a repainting cycle; vinyl is usually the value-oriented choice; metal creates the sharpest contemporary lines and can work as an accent or whole-home exterior.

CompositeDeep profile, permanent color and low maintenance
VinylBroad color availability and approachable whole-home pricing
MetalCrisp vertical shadow lines and modern architectural character

We compare profile width, corner details, window trim and how each material transitions to horizontal siding, masonry and roofing.
